Twilight on the beach

One day, my pal Mary Byrom and I were on the beach—probably at Ocean Park, but I’m not certain—and we just didn’t seem able to stop painting. The light was gone, the bugs were out, and we were trying to gather up the last rays of light before we had to quit. There are always last stragglers on the beach, who hate to go home as much as we did.
