Open to all media, this class will be a deep dive into two color concepts:
- Color schemes–how to move past observational color into color as a design element. We’ll look at various color schemes and how you can apply them to conventional painting. We’ll practice exercises until color serves you, rather than you chasing it.
- The color of light–there is a difference between understanding light and optics conceptually and being able to apply them consistently and automatically. We’ll talk about the nature of light and specific situations that override the obvious rules,

All students will need a basic watercolor kit and watercolor paper in addition to their usual medium. It does not have to be anything fancy. That’s because we’ll be doing quick exercises in addition to long paintings.
