Mature Eastern White Pine

$869.00

Maine is the Pine Tree State, and Eastern White Pine (Pinus strobus) is everywhere. Highly prized for ship masts by the British Royal Navy, many old-growth stands were logged during the colonial era. It’s our state tree (as well as Michigan’s) and the symbol of peace for the Iroquois Confederacy.

While my friends Ken DeWaard, Björn Runquist and Eric Jacobsen were all struggling to say something new about the Olsen House in Cushing, I turned around and painted this lovely old dame. Every bit as Wyeth, I thought.
