Cold Spring Day

$869.00

I teach a plein air workshop in Sedona in March. Before I flew out, they warned me that it was colder than normal. How cold could it be in the high desert, especially for someone used to New England winters? During that week it snowed somewhere in Sedona every day. Of course, I hadn’t brought cold weather gear, so I wore everything I had as layers and shivered uncontrollably. It was worth every second of suffering. (However, to be prudent, we’ve since moved the workshop to the end of March.)

This is a view from a Secret Slickrock Trailhead, which is one of my favorite places in Sedona. The snaking silver shape is sycamores along Oak Creek glimmering in the sun. It’s a scene of topsy-turvy curves and glimmering high peaks, and I visit it every time I’m in Sedona.
