Spring allee

As an adolescent, I had a horse—well, several horses, actually. I used to love riding along the Erie Canal, and often turned up a little path through brushy undergrowth. The trees were young, the horse was young, the season was young, I was young, and the world was our oyster.

Most days, I still feel that way. This was painted from memory and imagination. If you look down the path, that’s me in the far distance.
