Stone Wall, Salt Marshes

When in Gloucester, MA, it’s tempting to focus on the sea, but autumn creates its own magic in the Northeast. This salt marsh was behind a meadow that in turn was behind a stone wall. Mitch Baird, Eric Jacobsen and I painted there in a dripping, gentle, rain. There was something magical about the colors and the mood.

Stone Wall, Salt Marshes is 14×18 on archival canvasboard, in an elegant, hand-made plein air frame.
